Among the prescription acne treatment creams is Differin (adapalene) and Retin A (tretinoin). This is powerful acne facial treatment that has extreme side effects in some cases. That's the reason they are prescription only. Your dermatologist has to monitor the effectiveness versus the side effects and determine the concentration of these drugs for you. These drugs can be highly effective if you can stand the cost and tolerate the side effects.
